WHAT YOU’LL FIND HERE
A Yoga Journey is all about sharing my passion for Yoga as a practice and lifestyle with you. Whether in my yoga classes or on the blog, I talk about yoga asanas, the yogic way of life, meditation, great yoga books to read and more! You’ll hopefully find information to enrich your practice, inspire you, and help you grow in your own life journey.
WHO AM I
I’m Sara, a curious mind, a believer in the power of love & kindness and a certified hatha, vinyasa and GroovyKids™ yoga teacher. I’m also French, living in Dubai, so please excuse my English… I promise to do the best I can 😉
I started practicing yoga in 2011 to relieve my back when I was pregnant. With time and practice, I started to connect more to my body, to my intuition, to my true self.
As I was curious about how yoga could do so much, I decided to enroll in a Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in 2015. I had no intention to teach at first, just to deepen my own understanding of Yoga. But I learned so much about Yoga and its benefits that I felt like I couldn’t just keep it to myself! I later on trained in Vinyasa and because I believe we should all be able to enjoy the benefits of yoga from a very young age, I also certified in GroovyKids™ yoga.
I started teaching yoga classes in 2015 (more info here on the classes I teach in Dubai). And I am so grateful for the opportunity to introduce kids and adults to the benefits of yoga and to contribute to their well-being.
WHY ‘A YOGA JOURNEY’
“YOGA IS NOT ABOUT TOUCHING YOUR TOES. IT’S ABOUT WHAT YOU LEARN ON THE WAY DOWN.” – Judith Hanson Lasater
When I first started yoga, I was always wondering if I was ‘doing it right’. I would look around the room to see how I compared to others. I had expectations of how ‘good’ I should be at each pose and often judged myself for not being ‘good enough’. And I thankfully got rid of all this through my dedication to the practice. I came to understand that the practice is internal. It’s about how we feel on the inside.
Over the years, I learned that what matters in Yoga (and more widely in life) is the journey. It is not the shape our body takes on the mat that matters. It is everything that’s happened along the way: every success, every challenge we had to face and overcome, every effort we’ve put our heart into, every barrier we broke within ourselves, every learning we’ve made about ourselves. With my Yoga practice (on & off the mat), I try in every moment to be the best person I can be. I no longer compare myself to others or to expectations. I also learn about who I really am, in every moment. Overall Yoga has made me a more compassionate, open-minded, peaceful person.
I was very lucky to have an excellent teacher to guide me on this journey and answer my numerous questions (I told you I was curious ;). And I hope what you find in my yoga classes and blog helps you learn, grow and reach your full potential.
If there’s any personal question you’d like to ask, please feel free to drop me an email. I am always happy to help.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
With love and light,
